TV and Me

First of all, I have to say that I am a huge nerd, so it’s kind of obvious that I watch tons of movies and TV series. I don’t really go to the movie theater anymore; last time I went was last year, I think. Actually, and now that I remember, I went to the theater this year and watched Final Destination 5 in 3D. It was my first 3D experience, so I enjoyed that; the movie… not so much (I mean, come on, it was the same thing as the others!).

Usually, I download movies and series from all around the world (hmm, for backup purposes if anyone asks). My favorite movies are “The Royal Tenenbaums” (2001) by Wes Anderson (who is one of my favorite contemporary directors), “Chasing Amy” (1997) by Kevin Smith (one of my favorite Hollywood writers) and many others that –unfortunately- I don’t quite remember now. I also like watching B movies, such as the Troma productions (“The Toxic Avenger”) and foreign movies.

I follow a good number of TV series such as “Breaking bad”, “Dexter”, “Scrubs” (unfortunately cancelled), “Psych”, “The IT Crowd”, “Hunter X Hunter”, and anime series such as Mobile Suit Gundam.

That’s all I guess… I watch a lot of movies, but sometimes it’s a bad addiction cause I don´t really have the time to sit through a whole movie, that’s probably the reason why I watch TV series. They are shorter than movies...

This is one of my favorite songs. It came to me because of this subject and now I have it stuck in my head....

Hot summer, short term, the worst birthday present ever...

I have mixed feelings about this semester, I mean, term (at first it was supposed to be a semester). The thing is I really wanted to come back to classes, but in order to do it we had to pay a little price and the result of that is this compressed semester.

One of the main problems this term has concerns the subjects themselves; for instance, they will have fewer evaluations, fewer content or even, at times, the content can be way to dense to be learned in a few days, and that can affect our performance as students.

Anyways, the summer will also be a factor, I mean, it hasn’t even started yet and the temperature surpasses the breach of 30 degrees. Sometimes in classes it seems like we melt... I can’t even think how hot January will be!

But the thing that bothers me the most is not the fact that we’ll have classes during Christmas and New Year’s, i don’t really care about that. What I care about is that, for the first time on my entire life, I will have classes for my birthday (January 23rd) and on top of that I think I have two evaluations that day. That will be the worst birthday present ever…

A brief introduction about myself

Ok, so i’ll start by telling you some details about my childhood. First off, when I was a child I certainly didn´t want to be a journalist (or maybe a little bit), i guess i always wanted to be a detective or something like that, which is kinda similar now that i think about it. My favorite hero was –and will always be- my dad, because, even though my parents divorced and i stayed with my mom, he was always there for me trying to be a good father and a good role model.

I'm good at all the nerd stuff, like drawing and knowing a bunch of useless facts. On the other hand I'm awful at sports in general, despite being a huge soccer fan; the thing is i tend to prefer personal sports (over collective ones). I like people who are audacious and think outside of the box, i am not really a sociable person primarly because i am more acostumed to being alone or hanging out in small groups.

Someday I would like to travel around the world and fall in love with another city or town. It would be nice to live in New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, London or Tokyo, in fact, i would love to live in Tokyo someday and even work there. I hope to get my journalist title soon so i can start making some more money; that way i can find a job that allows me to know interesting places and people.
